Kiwi Recipes

Kiwis don’t look like anything much on the store shelves, resembling small hairy hamsters more than fruit! But once you cut into them to reveal the bright green insides, flecked with black seeds, they start looking a lot more appetizing! Here are the best kiwi recipes I’ve come across lately.

What is a Kiwi Fruit?

Kiwifruit or kiwi is a type of large edible berry. It is also known as a Chinese gooseberry. Contrary to the name, kiwis are not native to New Zealand. In fact, kiwis originated in China and were only introduced to New Zealand in the early twentieth century, although the first commercial crops were planted there.

The fruit has a hairy brown skin, and a bright green (or occasionally yellow) flesh with edible black seeds inside. You can eat the fruit raw, but there are also plenty of more interesting things to do with them. Here are 15 of my favorite kiwi recipes.
