A classic Middle-Eastern dip with red peppers and walnuts

Ingredients

  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 8 oz roasted red peppers
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 cloves garlic peeled
  • 2 tbsp pomegranate molasses
  • 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven 300°F.
  • Toast the walnuts in the hot oven for about 10 minutes, until lightly colored and fragrant.
  • Blend the walnuts with all the other ingredients, adding enough oil to make a smooth paste.
  • Serve with crudites or bread sticks as a dip, or as part of a mezze.
