Well, I’m still madly in love with kale and try to incorporate it in as many meals as possible. I’ve seen so many smoothies lately that have kale in them and I always wanted to try making one myself! So say “hello” to my very first kale smoothie!!
I absolutely loved it from the first sip! Super healthy and delicious breakfast drink! It has a refreshing taste plus it’s packed with vitamins and fiber.
The combination of the grapefruit and kale works so well together! The unique flavor of grapefruit and the sweetness of pear and strawberries mask the kale taste, so it doesn’t overpower this beverage.
For this smoothie it is ideal to use a high powered blender. Unfortunately, my old one has broken down, so I couldn’t blend to a smooth liquid consistency this time… Kale leaves are fairly tough and they don’t fully blend in an ordinary blender. I have read many great reviews about VitaMix and Blendtec. Sure, these aren’t the cheapest ones, but they look like they’re extremely high quality and worth the money. I will definitely think about buying one of these kitchen toys. 😉
